Trusting the calories

I'm pretty new to all of this, but I'm constantly worried that my calories are higher than what I think they are. What's somewhat strange to me is that even when I net calories I feel that I've eaten to much.
Does anyone have any tips to help me resolve, or at least calm the feeling?

I had a hard time too. But look at the success stories. People are losing weight, 28 lbs myself, by using the calories that are on mfp. They are correct, especially those ones that haven't been added by members. Just try it and stick with it!0

A rough estimate for how much a male should be having for the very very least is at 1500 while a female is at 1200. Those numbers are enough to have a going body system. But due to factors like height, gender, age and activity level calories will vary since of course if your taller, older or do more you will surely have more calories needed per day.0
