Carb intake inquiry..

The daily allotment MFP assigned me as far as carbohydrates are concerned is 165. Tonight, I consumed an apple that, evidently, had 222 carbs nestled in its deliciousness. Should I be at all concerned by the revelation that one apple exceeds my day's carb allowance? I'm sure, also, there are additional elements to be heedful of such as carbohydrates that are more health promoting - the downside therein being that I'm presently uninformed. Satiate my curiosity?

    Wow,

    That's a big apple.
  • I'm sure the natural sugars will not cause any concern as long as you walk/run around afterwards to burn them off :-)

Your apple is suffering from a typo in the database. Apples don't typically have 200 CALORIES, let alone 200 carbs. Check your entry :)

More like 22, certainly not 222

Yeah either you read it wrong or you logged something that's not right. An apple is usually around 20g Carbs and about 100 calories. An apple like you posted would be the size of a basketball

Somebody screwed up that entry. For an apple to have 222g of carbs, it would have to have been at least 888 calories (carbs are 4 calories per gram). I think that would be an apple about the size of a beach ball.

Ahah. Thank you! I just assumed I was in the presence of the rare and magnificent super apple and held my confusion for the sake of awed acceptance. I suppose further analysis should be held prior to paying reverent homage to my apple deities.
