The DVDs don't "work" or "not work". You getting up and moving and putting effort into it is what works. If you want to do one of those programs pick one and do it but push yourself and do it if you want to see results.
I did P90X a little over a year ago. I pushed myself and saw really good results. I followed that with Insanity. The second month I was kind of going through the motions. I got results but not near what I would have if I had put the same effort in that I had with P90X. I actually go a little bored with Insanity because there wasn't as much variety as there was with P90X.
That said, you don't need an expensive DVD to get fit. There are plenty of other things you can do at home if you don't want to go to a gym.0 -
There are some fitness videos on you tube you can try out. I recently discovered the BEFIT channnel0

I agree with the above poster - you will get out of it what you put in. All of those are good programs. There are also lots of other good programs out there.
I am a beachbody coach (not trying to sell anything - people please don't jump down my throat) so I have access to some additional materials on these programs. If you have specific questions on any of the beachbody programs that you can't find answers to let me know and I'll see if I can help you out.
If it's a matter of intensity vs your current fitness level there are modifications demonstrated for all of those - you start where you start, modify where you need to, and work to improve. You didn't specify which Les Mills you were considering - there are two and they're very different (Combat and PUMP).
Hope that helps!0 -
I started Les Mills Combat dvds 21 days ago (December 15, 2012) / 6 days a week and totally love it. Best purchase I ever did. Also did P90X for a year and got really good results. If you want to see results, you have to do any kind of exercise you like to do (walking, jogging, kickboxing, etc.) that way, you'll stick to it. I stop going to the gym after it became a drag to get my butt there 4-5 days a week.
good luck! if you want suggestion, let me know as I have quite a collection of exercise dvds.0 -
I have the BeachBody Turbo Jam dvds and I love them. They are lots of fun and they offer suggestions for working at a slower pace and modifications for bad knees.0
