HRM Spazing

Last night at my spin class my HRM was all over the place-at one point it was reading that my HR was at 220!! I was working hard, but not THAT hard. So, unfortunately, I didn't get a solid read for my workout.

Has this happened to anyone else? My friend was next to me and was also wearing a HRM. Is it possibly that my HRM was picking up hers? This doesn't usually happen when I am running or doing other workouts.

    I would imagine it would only pick up hers if it's the exact same model as yours... but even than I doubt it would. I know with mine if the watch is more than two feet from the chest strap it loses the reading.

    How old is the HRM? It may need a new battery? Was the chest strap properly put on? I know with mine the chest strap needs to be wet in one spot in order to get an accurate read.
