I need help figuring out how many calories vs exercise ?

I'm 26, 5'7" weighing 135. I just had a baby 5 months ago so I'm trying to lose the extra 13lbs I gained and tone up.

I try to eat less than 1400 calories a day. Working out (running/ gym classes) 4 days a week for 30mins to an hour. I burn about 260 calories running or on the ellipitcal.

I dont understand how many calories to intake vs exercising to lose about a 1lb a week.

    The number I read some time ago was 3500 calories = 1 pound of weight loss (approximately). So if you can manage a 500 calorie deficit per day you'd lose 1 pound a week. Based on your 1400 calories a day + regular exercise I think you'd end up between 1-2 pounds a week.
