Always in the RED with sugar

When I joined the site I wasn't logging sugar and was losing weight. I'm still losing despite not working out because I'm sick with bronchitis. Someone told me that I should watch my sugar intake too, so I changed the setting to reflect sugar.

However, I'm always in the red. Does sugar have a big role in weight lost? Is there such thing as good sugar and bad sugar?

Sugar is empty calories, plain and simple. Stop eating it altogether and limit starchy carbs and you will start to see noticable fat loss.

If it is from fruit I don't really pay attention.

A lot of people including myself blast through the sugar barrier. The main culprit for me is fruit, but since my blood sugar levels are fine, I'm not overly concerned about going over.

I think it really depends on where you're getting your sugar. I've almost reached my limit on an orange and a cup of milk. From what I've seen the sugar limit is set really low.

I'm losing weight, so that's not the issue. It's when I have sugar i my coffee, and a banana. I'm pretty much over. I'm currently on a 2lb a week goal. I have already lost 25 pounds since joining in November.

That's awesome! I'd really say just don't worry about it then. I just keep it listed to keep me aware of my sugar intake and don't really worry when it goes over as long as I'm not scarfing doughnuts or something.

I don't worry about sugar from natural sources (fruit, low fat/ fat free dairy, etc.). But if you do want to reduce your intake you should cut the pure sugar in your coffee. You could try drinking flavored coffee (which I do, most are usually sweet enough) or use stevia
