Hello all....I am once again doing the South Beach Diet. I have done this diet in the past and has done well for my body. The meals are great and the system works. I have tried quite a few of the recipes and can give some feedback. If you too are doing this diet (or if your not) add me as a friend and we can work through it together. Giving eachother tips, advice and support. David

What exactly is this South beach diet?0

Just eat at a calorie deficit and you will see results.0

Im not sure about the southbeach diet, but ive been stuck for 3 years now and have about 20 lbs to go. I recently came across an article that suggested eating no more than 15g of sugar a day. I thought this might be worth a try as its not discounting any specific food group, just minimizing sugar, which people have no dietary need for anyway. Im on day 2 so I am anxious to see the results.0

I like the diet where you maintain a calorie deficit and eat whatever you want in moderation.0

Not being sarcastic here, but just a valid question...if it worked before....why do you have to do it again?0 -
Hi. I'm not doing South Beach (Not trying to lose weight, really). But do think it's a reasonable, healthy way to eat. It's actually very close to how I try to eat.
Feel free to add me.0 -

Sigh....if there was only such a diet out there.0 -

Yep, my thoughts exactly!0 -
Wow ... sorry for everyone's negative responses to your request.
My doctor suggested I try a low carb/gluten free diet, to possibly help with some health issues Ive been having.
She suggested I try the South Beach diet - for a starting guideline.
Feel free to add me - we can support each other!0 -
No problem, thanks for asking. I'm doing it again because I was injured in the gym and had to have surgery to repair my rotatorcuff as well as a torn bicep. During the recovery I fell back into some old eating habits. I like the concept and I know it works. I just do the extreme portion of it to get where i want and then slowly add things in in moderation. Since i only have 10-15lbs to lose i know i can do it in 2 months. From there I will make good choices.0

Exactly, its a good starting point and its so informative. You can make healthy choices from what you have learned. For those of you who haven't read the book and as my Mother always says, "Don't knock it before you try it"!!!0

Best of luck.
It's a pretty healthy lifestyle. And you know that's the key: making it a lifestyle rather than a diet.
I'd bet most folks don't know much about it and probably think it's "a low carb diet".
I've been eating low glycemic (most of the time), whole foods, for about 12 years now, and haven't gained weight back.
You can do it!0 -
2 years ago I started the SB diet at my doctors suggestion (I have gluten allergy and was pre-diabetic). I still use it to some degree, but had a nutritionist tweak it and adapted especially for me. (I just couldn't stand ricotta cheese) .0
