Hi ya'll!

My name is Sarah, I am a 24 year old wife and mama to two beautiful girls, Olivia - 2 and Isabelle - 6 months old! I stay at home with the girls and wouldn't have dreamed of doing anything else. Watching them grow everyday is such a beautiful experience.
My journey begins today. Now. My husband and I have both put on an extra 100lbs combined over the course of a year due to the new baby, holidays, and pure laziness. We signed up for the gym at Planet Fitness a month ago and I can count on one hand how many times we have gone. Pure ridiculousness.
What made me realize that the change needs to begin now is when my husband and I went to Kohl's this past weekend to use our gift cards we received for Christmas. That was truly an eye opener not just for myself but for my husband. I was trying on shirts and blouses that made my arms look pudgy, my stomach was sticking out way too far and I couldn't even get the matching pants that the manikin was wearing because they didn't carry my size. Awful. My husband and I walked out of that store with our heads down, shamefully, as I was shedding tears down my face.
How did I let myself get this bad, I kept thinking to myself. I am an embarrassment not only to myself, but to my girls, too, even if they are too young to realize.
That was when my life changed.
I had my husband pick up several copies of Eat This, Not That, because honestly, as a busy family, there are times we get take-out during the week when things get to hectic. That book allows us to make "healthier" alternatives to what we normally get. It actually was an eye opener and my jaw almost dropped to the floor last night when I read and saw what the calories were for some of things we thought were healthy! Jimmy Dean's breakfast sandwiches that my husband eats every morning at work I thought were pretty good .. 600 calories PER sandwich?? Awful! Don't get me started!
Then today, a friend of mine posted on her facebook that she had lost 7lbs through MFP and I remember reading how this is one of the top weight loss apps out there, so I decided to check it out myself. I signed up, did the calorie counter and how much I'd like to lose and so far I added what I had to eat this morning. Not bad, seems fun!
Then, I started browsing the community section and went into the Success stories. My oh my I was in TEARS. If these people, weighing close to 300lbs or so, can do this, then SO CAN I!
And here I am. Welcome to the new ME!

Hi Sarah. I'm wanting to lose about 40-50lbs. It's slow and steady and it's not going to be easy but will be worth the effort! I've sent you a friend request. Any extra motivation that I can give or get would be great!0
