Time to drop some weight

I joined up a few days ago did some planning and some research on what I'm going to do. I'm 218lbs right now and my goal is to get back down to 165. I don't actually see me reaching 165, not because its impossible or I can't do it but me and my buddy are going to be starting an exercise regiment as well as the diet so the trade off for muscle to fat might not let me drop down to 165 so what i should say I guess, i want to reach 7% body fat. Its going to take a lot of work and discipline to do it but I've got a baby now and its time dad here lost the weight and got to a point where he wants to be. I refuse to be the guy thats too fat to play with my son, or not be able teach him something bc i get winded to easily and I cant show him without panting. I'm going to be a big part of his life and I want him to know how important fitness is, its sad that I let myself get to where I'm at but next time im sitting here at 218 its either going to be bc age wont let me stay in shape or bc muscle mass has put me at a solid 218 not this fat squishy 218 I am right now. 1450 calories a day /w a cheat day and at minimum a 30 min run with 20 min calisthenics. After 2 months the calorie intake will go up for a month of strength training and after that I will alternate muscle gains one month and fat loss another. I'm sure there are better ways to do this but its the way i did it before and i went from being fairly out of shape to solid and barely any fat on me.
