Hello. I am new to this, and looking for support. I am a licensed clinical social worker and work as the Director of Admissions for a school for children with autism and developmental disabilities. I live with my partner and our 3 cats and a dog. She is a massage therapist and also works with special needs kids.

I have a fairly significant history of disordered eating (restricting, purging (non-bingeing) thanks to 13 years of gymnastics. My body is beat up, and I just had my 4th knee surgery in 4 years. Doc said there's nothing else he can do, and I have to lose weight. I also have PCOS, but don't currently take any meds and do not have insulin resistance. Everyone in my family has diabetes except me, and I would like to keep it that way.

I need motivation for the long haul . . I know this is not going to happen overnight, and I am looking for support from people who have been there and know about the marathon, and not just the sprint . . .

Anyone willing to help a newbie make life long changes--both in eating and the way I treat myself. I want to focus on being more positive this year, and seeing what I CAN do, rather than all the things I feel I haven't done.

I am honored to be on this journey with all of you, and would love support along the way.
