Newbie set on making lifestyle changes

Hi everyone, another newbie here. I've lurked around reading posts and finally got inspired by everyone's journeys and decided to join. I'm 45 and I need to lose another 30 pounds, I've already lost 15. I have gained and lost weight many times over the last ten years, and I know my problem is that I am not seeing this as a lifestyle change, just a diet.
I spent my first 35 years being thin, ate whatever I wanted, and never went to a gym. Suddenly my metabolism packed up and left town, and although I didn't change the things I did, I started packing on the weight. A sane person would realize that hey life happens and its time to make some changes and lose some weight.
so I've recently focused on learning to eat healthier and also work on portion control. Now its adding in the exercise, I totally hate it. I work long hours and have an hour commute to and from work. I do use about 30 minutes of lunch to walk. Plus I got a new dog last year, and my Lab is very high energy. I am either playing with him, or taking him on a nice long walk. Every day, twice a day, rain or shine, I have to walk my dog, he's just got so much energy. It's been good for me though, as I no longer have any excuse not to walk. Now if I can just find time to get in some other types of exercise.
Could use some friends to keep me honest, and encourage me during those time my husband brings donuts in the house, to be good!
