So wait...why is it evil? Simply because it is not a "fat burner" which essentially does not exist? I freaking love Grapefruit.

It's a tongue in cheek article.
But here's the allegation of why it is so very very bad:

. It’s plotting to murder you.
The compounds in grapefruit inhibit an enzyme in the intestine from metabolizing certain substances. These substances include drugs that regulate blood pressure (Nitrendipine), high cholesterol (Lipitor), heart arrhythmia (Cordarone), and depression (Zoloft). If you eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice within three days of taking such drugs, your body fails to process the medications as it should, and you can experience side effects resulting from higher levels of the drug in your system. The bottom line? Grapefruit is trying to kill us.

Got it, I didn't go to the link so I obviously missed this part

    Only the Ruby Red variety.

But of course. Is there another kind? :drinker:

Grapefruit is not evil, it's just misunderstood. Mostly it's just cultural differences anyway.

Next time try hugging a grapefruit instead of just judging it for being different.

Fruit is good for your overall health
Fruit is not good for MAXIMUM FAT LOSS (except post-workout)

Maximum fat loss comes from hard work, smart eating, good training and steady supplementation. This is turn leads to overall good health.

Lol, liked the article. I personally eat half a grapefruit (with a bit of sugar since I'm still getting used to the straight up taste) and two poached eggs for breakfast because it helps me to feel awake and energized. Not sure if it's maybe the strong citrusy flavour, but I just enjoy my days better with grapefruit. :)

Grapefruit's flavor always reminds me of the bitter bile that accompanies vomit.

...but I like grapefruit. I wouldn't call it evil, but if you don't like it then don't eat. I like it so I will continue to eat it.

^ This. I enjoy grapefruit. I didn't always, but I do now. If you don't like it, that's cool too, but there's no need to be hateful about it.

Ruby red grapefruit is my all-time favorite fruit! Poo to those who talk trash on my grapefruit!

(It DOES interact with a bazillion meds though, so clear it with your pharmacist before pigging out on it.)

The gist of the article is corerct. I am on BP meds, and my doctor told me that I cannot eat grapefruit nor its juice as each would interfere with my medication.

But the bear thing sounds linteresting.

Grapefruit is kind of like the antichrist of citrus. Looks so innocent but deep down...armegedon. It wants to destroy man kind.

So...it's evil because it's not magical?

Damn it, that means I'm evil too.

    But I already knew that.

Excuse me while I go eat a grapefruit in my evil lair.

No food has magical fat burning qualities period. Maintaining a caloric deficit over a period of time has scientific fat burning qualities though.

What about the magical smurf berry?
I have been looking for these, do you have a source?
