You're talking to someone about your weight loss, then they say something like "wow you must not eat alot" then you reply with "no I eat about 5-6x a day and they're in utter shock?

If it were me I'd want to know quantity, not frequency--that's the only way to induce shock. Lol.

Same. There are people with eating disorders who eat frequent yet low calorie snacks which doesn't amount to much.

I've run into colleagues in the break room while I'm putting my bag of breakfast, snacks, and lunch in the fridge who give me a weird look sometimes and say things like..."how are you losing all of that weight when you have such a huge sack of food"...while they hold up their tiny brown bag in utter dismay that they eat this little lunch and still gain weight.

Well, for one thing, your little bag is filled with a take out burrito that is around 2 servings and probably in the neighborhood of 800 calories, not to mention the 5 cookies, the pudding snack, 2-3 servings of potato chips, and a coca cola...oh, but I like the half apple you've thrown in there for good measure.

Meanwhile, my bag is filled with a couple servings of fruit, 2-3 servings of veg, greek yogurt, cottage cheese, some lean poultry or fish...sometimes meat, nuts, oatmeal, etc...and while the quantity of items in my bag may be more...the calories derived are significantly less and nutritional value is substantially greater.

Exactly, you should have seen my dinner last night. Massive full plate of spinach garden salad with Turkish Spiced chicken breast yogurt balsamic vinegar and parmesan. To look at it you wouldn't know it was under 300 calories. You could have all that or two cookies. You can eat so much more volume wise if you make healthy choices.
  • make it easy on yourself and just don't talk to people :D

lol it's because people want to believe that in order to get the body they want, they have to starve themselves. That's their excuse not to do it. They don't want to admit to themselves that they just don't want to do the work lol.

Sounds delicious. Is there a recipe for this somewhere?

This. So much this. My friends are like, "How do you get away with eating 1600-1800 calories a day and still lose 3-4lb a week? I'm starving and can't lose anything!"
It's really simple. About 50-70 minutes of cardio daily. It's a choice, and self-perpetuating. I work out so I can eat more, because I love food. Eating is necessary, but I feel like so many people feel "entitled" to treats and frankenfood. It's ridiculous.

yes. I was talking to my x hubby by phone, and he said "wow, eating again?" seems like he always calls during dinner. he asked what I had. I said, grilled red and yellow peppers and catfish filet over rice. His reply was, "you're going to get fat girl". That is a remark I get from lots of people when they see my meals. Sooo uneducated. I asked him what did he recommend. Silence.
