Anyone else here with PTSD?

Hi, I'm new here and am wondering if anyone else has PTSD. I am finally confronting my childhood through CBT therapy. If you have PTSD, you know the mood swings, especially depression that come with it. Would love to make friends with anyone in a similar situation. When I get in a bad depression, I'm not motivated to do anything. Except that I do eat when that happens. I'm working on that, but would love to make some friends for motivation.

Hiya
Same boat here. Certainly makes life more interesting, doesn't it?! Cheers for using all the tools you can to achieve the greatest healthiness and happiness.
You're definitely not alone. The development of children in abusive situations is stunted, and rather than learning healthy, effective strategies for mood regulation and self-soothing, they often look to external sources (food, alcohol, drugs, sex) as a form of self-medication. In addition to eating healthily and getting more fit, what are other things you can do to help regulate your feelings, improve self-esteem and maximize your vitality? It helps to have a long list of go-to activities and experiences that you can rely on when you have cravings that food will no longer fulfill.
Good luck, or more aptly, good choices!0
