What should I be eating?

Okay. Here is my story. A long time ago I lost about 45-50lbs. Back in 2010. I gained all of it back plus a few more pounds just because of a bad relationship and eating habits, plus I had a knee injury back in around August/Sept.?? (I don't really remember) I am at about 228 right now. I am 5'10 tall. Pretty curvy. I think a good weight for me would be about 165-170.

So any who, I injured my hip recently (around Christmas'12). My doctor/PT says I need to take it easy on the treadmill/elliptical and absolutely NO incline or I could sprain/strain my hip again. I go for about 10-20 minutes each day. I recently bumped it up to 20 min. today. I started Sunday at 13 on the elliptical (incluiding cooldown) and yesterday was 10 mins on my tradmill and today was 20 minutes (tread) on low speed. I ususally go at about 2.5 on my treadmill and low level fat burn on eliptcal (HR 129-heart rate). I eat about 1750-80 cals a day (I believe thats what the tracker on here says?)

I need your guys' advice. I get hungry a lot at work and during the day. What kind of foods should I be eating? When can I see results because of my crappy slowmo exercise (doctors orders!) I should be remembering because I did this a long time ago but I just want to do it right this time and NOT GAIN EVER AGAIN! NEW YEAR NEW ME!

Please help! Also feel free to add me because I need a lot of moral support!
