Starting right once again

Okay, so I've been on this board a little while now. I was totally greatful to loose the pounds that I did - 6 pounds! Then slimply over night it came back. I didn't weigh myself for a few days after that and the day that I did... it all came back!
I'm so bummed.
I wonder if I should decrease my number of calories this week, as a test to see if I can loose it again. Summer is around the corner and I'd like to be down to 120-125 again. 40 pounds is a lot to loose. But I've seen so many people on here loose even more than that! So I know it is possible.
As I mentioned in another post or two, I 'm not really a soda drinker, just last week I had only one can and that was all. So I know I'm not bad. I'm not addicted to soda, so this week I will go without drinking any soda. I'm going to see if I can drink green tea all week and see where that gets me.
I will weigh myself in the morning (tuesday) and not weigh again until next tuesday. Maybe that will get me less sad.

I'm sorry you are down.:flowerforyou:
Is your Aunt flow due anytime soon? It' really sucks when we work so hard and those scale numbers play such a big part by tellling us if we should be happy or not. It's really not fair.
Keep working hard and before you know, you'll be wearing those short shorts. :happy:0 -
im sorry you gained that weight back, but dont become too obsessed with the scale. Make sure to take all your measurements too sometimes you lose inches and you can even gain weight if your building muscle. You cant let the scale dictate your feelings.... dont be bummed:ohwell: you can do this we all can! ... we are only capable of living one day at a time so just do your best for today.0

I do have a measure, I should use that instead. How do you know you are toneing and not actually gaining? I would be scared to start messuring myself and see an increase in numbers with that.0 -
I think its good to use both a measue and a scale. Start by measuring all the spots you will lose the most weight like your waist your hip, bust, widest part of your thigh, and upper arm. you can write all your measurements in mfp and check them like every 2 weeks ( thats what i do). and as long as you are doing some physical activity and staying on a healthy eating plan and staying within your calories, you should be making some progress.... for me i notice the inches way more than i notice the pounds.0

Weight loss is a funny thing...up and down all the time. It depends on your water retention, muscle gain, fat loss, blah, blah, blah.
Please don't get discouraged. And only use your scale as a guide. Start measuring instead, or going by how your clothes are fitting.
If I only went by the scale, I would have given up a long time ago. I can be down 5 pounds one day and up 7 the next because I ate too much processed foods with sodium. I've learned not to eat processed food because of this.
Go and measure yourself...I'll just bet that you'll be pleasantly surprised. And don't EVER give up, just keep plugging away. And always remember, even if the scale does not reflect weight loss, you ARE getting healthier.0
