I'm back, and 19 pounds fatter

Well, I have returned, and to my shame, I am 19 pounds fatter. It's fat not muscle. On August 10 2012 I had an eight hour back surgery with two surgeons. Two weeks later I was back in the hospital with a 104.8 fever from a massive infection. Now I am 19 pounds fatter and starting to work on loosing it. Right now I am working on a 1850 calorie diet, with a move towards 1250. My diet program is 55% protein, 27% carbs, and 17% fats, focusing on omega 3's. I have been battling with depression since the infection. Not at the suicide level or anything like that, just loss of motivation and lack of energy. I'm still dealing with a lot of pain from the surgery, which will get better with time I know. So if you see I haven't logged for a day or two, feel free to email me at Stormtruck2@yahoo.com and fire me up. It is difficult for me to ask for the help, but I must. My stats are below along with my goals.

5'10"
290 LBS
51 yo
BMI 44.1
Goal is 199lbs
Body fat 12%

I think that's his goal body fat, not what it is now.

Yes my BF goal is 12%. My current BF is 36% I think. I am having to lose most of my weight via diet right now because even walking is painful after 5-6 minutes. In time I will be walking 2-3 hours a day. Starting not from a dead stop, but from in the hole right now. But at least I have stopped digging.

Congratulations on making a choice to get healthier. Getting started may be the hardest part, especially when you've had a bit of backslide. I'm working on the 15lbs I've re-gained since last summer. But we're back on track, and there's no place to go but forward!
