The cheap rowing machines are pretty bad. They just don't feel right to me. I got a proper big one but it takes up stacks of room. Yes it's a good burn and works upper and lower body. But the big one was dear. I liked the one with the fan because the faster you go the more air you blow on your face.0

i LOVE the rower. if i had space that's what i would buy since tredmill and stairs are things i can do outdoors.
the kind they have at the gym are cybex (i think?) and they have wheels on them, so you can stand them up, wheel them and store them vertically so it takes up less space0 -
Hi, i have a water rower, it's nearly two years old now, but I echo the other poster. The cheap rowers feel awful, and I think i wouldnt use them. The rowing motion is incredibly important to your motivation and enjoyment!
I went with a water rower over a concept2 as i thought it would be quieter, mine is in the spare room next to my light sleeping daughter. It also stands on its end for storage so doesnt take up that much room.0
