Sugar = carb, carb = calories. Calories in < calories out = weight loss.

Sugar doesn't make you fat, calories do. Don't stress sugar. If you want to optimize body recomposition (cutting fat, while maintaining your muscle) make sure you have a workout routine that consist of body resistance/weight training and adjust your macro's to ensure you have 1g of protein and .35g of fat per pound of lean body mass.

I woud debate this however in the context of regulary going over your sugar content will be detrmiental to your general wellbeing.

I am the prime example. I used to live a VERY balanced lifestyle high protein, lots of vege no dairy gluten (allergies), then i needed to drop some wirght i had gained. So i started subsituting meals for keipher yogurt. Its high in protein low in cals but pretty highin sugar. Pretty soon i started to feel TERRIBLE. My calories were lower than ever, i stopped losing weight and i was constantly tired, cranky and irritable. Furthermore the excessive excerisise i'd always been able to do became VERY difficult and i had to cut back. Even wahti could do waht half-effort. THEN the worst, i started getting continuous injury afetr injurty - the type that takes 6 weeks to repair. So what do i do? Cut calories lower - still over sugar. Feeling worse and injury not repairing.

In the end i had to 'taek the hit' and feel worse before feeling better while i changed my diet again.

hope this helps... get proper nutrition, not calories.

I highlighted where your problem was most likely. Too little fuel too much exercise = recipe for disaster. I average 100g of sugar without issue, but I do fuel my body with tons of protein, fruits and veggies. Now I will say, I don't fuel it with candy because that would not be smart. But most sugars are fine.
