Anyone have experience in filing for ILR?

Just posting everywhere I can to try and get as much information as possible--I moved to the UK in 2011 on a spouse visa and in about 6 months I'll have to file my indefinite leave to remain application which, as it turns out, is proving to be more of a pain in the rear than the spouse visa.
Just wondering if anyone has any advice or experience they'd like to share with me!
