What does everyone plan on doing this summer for fun?

I am (back permitting) getting back on a bicycle. I haven't been on one in years and I want to get one with the knobby tires for hills. Other than that I always have my garden and I think I would like to get some binoculars and check out birds. I would love to be able to draw them. So what is everyone else planning on doing this summer?

HIlton Head with my mother's family (aunts and cousins) - 10 females at the beach. Driving there and back - about 1300 miles.
    Then I hibernate until fall.

Taking my daughter to Texas to visit family or a while, if she stays for a few days, I'll go on the road with hubby for work. If not, then we'll see.

Hi Kjllose and Everyone...it all sounds fun!

I'll have my boyfriend's daughter, Liz with me this summer...she's my girlfriend that's like a daughter...we like to dance, sunbathe in the backyard and float in the kiddie pool...spend time at the beach...take care of her Dad...etc.

I have birds Kjllose...all year round in the neighborhood we have wild parrots, falcons and ravens...the birds that actually come to my feeder and birdbath are; two species of sparrows, house finches, gold finches and blue scrubjays...I wish I could get the parrots to come closer, they stay high in the trees and make quite the bit of racket...they are beautiful and very entertaining...I wish the falcons would move out of the neighborhood, they ate my only solid yellow finch this past winter.

    Have a great summer All!

First....I will spend more time in the pool this year because I will not look like a beached whale ever again.
I can't wait to start digging in and gardening. I have alot of flower gardens, and we also plant an enormous veggy garden.
I love to spend summer evenings on the back porch swing just talking with my family and (because of the garden) snapping beans, shelling peas, etc....
We eat every meal on the back porch in the summer. Can't wait to get everything scrubbed up, and eat outside.
About once a week we will light a fire and cook marshmellows, hot dogs,......I guess I need to come up with some more healthy, creative things to cook this year.

I was also thinking about getting a bike!

    Oh yea, I almost forgot......Fishing!

Going to visit my husbands family in Brazil. Luckily, it will be winter there so no need to buy a thong for the beach - :noway:

A cruise to Alaska in late july/early August - hopefully will get to dome some hiking and horseback riding.

Of course - attend some baseball games.

Maybe some weekend local trips - would like to see the giant redwoods again, Yosemite - and not sure what else yet??

We're going to Disney next year.
I love Niagara Falls. We went there for the 1st time on our honeymoon almost 7 years ago.
We try to go every year but for some reason we didn't make it last year. It's so nice there.
We love going to the Ripley's Believe it or Not museum. We might as well get our passports done b/c we're going to Italy for our 10th wedding anniversary which is in 3 years. The passposrt thing kinda sucks though.

I was born & raised in the Bronx and the zoo there is soooo big. Have you ever gone to the Botanical Gardens?... Oh my goodness... gorgeous flowers but way too big.

This year is winning or at least coming in the top three in the banger racing championship came 5th last year only raced half of the meetings though considering I race with the blokes and there was over 40 competed throughout the season my hubby being 1 of them (yes I did beat him and no he didn't let me) I think that is quite and achievement I was 2nd for a while but I went on holiday and dropped down the points total bummer. This year will be my year though it all starts next month 21st and finishes in sept.

Next year though we are hitting Disney hard though three weeks renting my parents villa in june the kids can't wait 61 weeks to go (I know sad isn't it but we live on an island with no ice rink, no skating rink, no bowling alley, no good shops and usually rubbish weather and we have to paint the house in the summer so hubby needs to use his holidays off work for that but we will make up for it next year)

I'm going to become an auntie again! My sister is expecting another baby girl in July. It will be nice to have a tiny baby in the family again. We have a family reunion in WV in mid July. In August, we're going to Myrtle Beach and we're right on the beach! Other than those trips, I want to spend time at the pool and just hang out in general......raise some tomatoes and basil for a nightly summer salad. Yummy. Gonna have to raise some cucumbers, too. Too delicious.

Right now it IS summer in Aus, and we are in the middle of Adelaide's longest heat wave in 3000 years (or so the newsreaders say!) It's been over 37 every day for 17 days- yesterday I had to do two hours of driving for work in my non-airconditioned car and I passed an outdoor thermometer that read 44!

So I have been at the beach as much as possible and mostly concentrating on not moving unless I'm exercising, which takes place late at night when it drops to the low thirties! Get ready for a fabulous summer everyone!
  • I will be working on my Master's..but taking a break to go to Disney. I'm hoping to be at (or close) to my goal weight by then! Only 17lbs to go.

Banger racing is racing cars similar to what you would put in demolition derby old cars stripped inside add safety bars and race we have roof grades depending how good you are white yellow blue red and I am pleased to say that I am the first and only female driver on the Isle of man to achieve red roof grading but its is tough. Green flag drops most contact is allowed however rough with the exception of drivers door just race and pray nobody gives you a shove and pushes you into the fence (that hurts) 10 laps and it is over, I literally shake in my boots when I wait for the flag to drop but it is all about the buzz once it bites it is hard to shake. Got some pics under my profile

Hope that explains what banger racing is.
