Not enough Protein!

My nutritionist is consistently telling me to eat more vegetables and protein. However, I find if I do well in one, I do horrible in the other. Anyone have any suggestions? This isn't a normal topic for the "Introduce Yourself" board, but I can use "friend"ly motivation as well!!
