What Can I eat???

So I am really trying to make this lifestyle change a success- I am, however, having a bit of trouble figuring out what to eat. I work very long hours 6 am til 3:30 pm ( at the very least) on top of that I am a wife and mother, so my schedule is pretty tight. I have done some research on what is "healthy" to eat but so many things are contradicting. I now find myself lost. Any suggestions about what I should eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, dessert, etc.. Also kind of a timeline as to when I should eat and how often would be nice as well- I usually eat breakfast around 8 am but I don't know if that is too late? Thanks!

FYI: I found eating oatmeal makes me feel like I'm starving not long after.

    1. When you eat does not matter. It doesn't matter if you eat 6 small meals, 3 bigger meals, or just graze all day. Don't concern yourself with the details that really don't matter, you'll just drive yourself nuts.

    2. You seem kind of overwhelmed with all of the information and you are a busy woman, so I would take it in baby steps. First, get your calories sorted out. Eat within your calorie goal daily. Don't worry about what you should or shouldn't be eating, just eat what you consider to be reasonably healthy foods and stay within your calorie goal. Once you have that down, tweaking your diet to sub in healthier items is much easier.

    3. If oatmeal makes you hungry afterwards, go for the protein. Every person is different, but I need a mix of protein and carbs to feel full. For instance, one large egg (70 calories), a slice of cheddar cheese (70 calories) on a toasted sandwich thin (100 calories) will keep me full all morning to the tune of 240 calories.
