Eating before exercise

Hi all. I like to workout in the morning and have been getting up at 4:30 so I can drink my shake and wait about an hour before I workout. I'm wondering if I don't do this and workout on an empty stomach (so I can sleep later) if this will have any impact on my results? What do most of you do?

I personally prefer working out on an empty stomach and eating afterwards but I can't compare it to eating before exercise since I've never done it. There shouldn't be any effects on weight loss if you do either one, it just depends what the person likes!0

Plenty of people train fasted, I sometimes do. You're in the clear.0

I'm up at 5:30a to workout - I do it fasted and eat afterwards. The only times I eat before exercise are weekends before a mid-late morning class, and during marathon training when I'm looking at a run of 2.5+ hours.0

when you workout fasted, do you find that you don't have the energy level you would have, if you had eaten? I also read somewhere eating carbs before bed will help with the energy during a morning workout, but I don't know if I want to try that.0
