Snacking - What Should I Eat?

I am doing great so far with my calorie counting, but it's that in-between meals snacking that is making me miserable. It's making me miserable because I have the urge to put something in my mouth, whether I'm hungry or not. This usually happens around 2:00 PM and then around 7:00 or 8:00PM. My problem is I dont usually have enough calories left for a snack. Even if I did, I need some ideas on some good, low-carb snacks.

I eat 3 meals and 3 snacks so I always have a snack to look forward to, even if its a 50 calorie string cheese or 14 almonds, or a yogurt. you can look at my diary0

I eat celery or cucumbers with hummus. I tried just eating the veggies alone and it doesn't satisfy me. The hummus makes all the difference! If I can't have that then I grab an apple.
Today I was bolting out the door and grabbed a Trader Joe's Trail Mix bar just in case. I hope I don't eat it since I'm already looking to go over my calories... But if I get hungry... At least I know it's only 150.
A tip that I found useful. Eat the snacks slow.... Take a bite, put it down and do something. Then come back to it.0 -
