Swimming?

I used to LOVE swimming, but the more weight I put on the more embarrassed and anxious I would become to wear a swimming costume in a public place. However, I want to take up the sport again because it's the only sport I've ever really been good at as well as enjoying it, the only problem is I no longer own a swimming costume and I have no idea where to purchase one for a reasonable price. Ladies, any ideas? (I live in the UK).
