    Measurements and once you are at a great place with that (stops changing significantly) then just looking in the mirror, photos, clothing fit.

    Right now I only use weight to chart my progress, but I also have pictures of myself at my highest weight. I plan to take a picture everytime I lose 50 pounds :)

    I'm a huge fan of measuring. It's advisable to measure monthly but I measure weekly on my weigh-in day. On weeks that I know I've managed the eating/exercising well, yet the scale doesn't move, the measurements will show progress. There are many weeks where that is the only thing that keeps me motivated. The jeans-fitting will fall in nicely from there.
