I have typed in what my goals is which is to lose 1lb body fat per week, whilst doing this I wish to gain muscle. Some people say you can't do both at the same time but I'm sure that if your new to it that you can do both.
It says for my macros that I need to get 219g of carbs, 53g fat and 60g protein. Now to me the protein seems very low, I was told I need to getting about 1g of protein per lb of body weight and the carbs seems too high.
Any advice on this would be great, thanks.

Protein is more of a minimum than anything. You can manually change your macros by going to "goals" on your homepage.0

reduce your carbs, increase your protein. You should lose easier on 150-175g carbs...0 -
Of course you can lose (shrink technically) fat cells while develping muscle mass. Every time you engage in serious exercise that is what you are doing (burning calories while (hopefully) developing muscle. What you can not do is convert fat into muscle. Our bodies engage in biology, not alchemy.
When you are looking at ratios (eg ounces of protien/lb... don't forget that ratio should be set to your goal weight, not your current weight. You are looking to feed the body you want.0 -
Yep, unless you're already shredded & cut, you can achieve both easily.
As a previous member suggested, change your goals to include a higher proportion of protein.
Happy training!0
