Anybody have Calf Trigger Point Problems Before?

Started having pain on the bottom of my left foot about a month ago. Thought I needed new shoes and started cycling around in the closet because it was Christmas, yada, yada. I hadn't been running nearly as much as I had the past three months (ran my first half marathon in September without any problems in training). But I didn't want to risk an injury so I have cut back even more and babied it and it's just kept nagging.

I thought it was plantar fasciitis. Then it jumped to the back of the ankle and acted like Achilles tendonitis. I've rolled, iced, stretched, and rested. Tonight I was mashing on my calf muscle and it hurts/knots right at the base of the muscle. I Googled and it looked like a soleus muscle trigger point issue. I have an ART doctor and a deep tissue massage therapist I can schedule an appointment with. Is one better than the other? can I treat it on my own? Most importantly, CAN I RUN WITHOUT AGGRAVATING IT? I want to get back to my routine!!
