you really don't have to spend much money at all, kendra. the main thing you're going to have to do to lose weight is to create a calorie deficit. your diet is going to be more effective in losing weight than any exercise we can list here.

to help you achieve that deficit, there are any number or free or very cheap activities you can engage in. you can find youtube videos of bodyweight strength exercises and cardio. you can go for a walk everyday with your kids. you can go for a run around your neighborhood. my personal favorite, you can buy a jump rope for less than $20 that will give you a hellacious workout in just a few minutes per day. you can go hiking if you have hills around your area.

I assure you that you can lose the weight you want without spending a ton of money on expensive gym memberships or exercise equipment.

Do you have access to a computer and the Internet at home? If so look up exercise videos on you tube. Jillian michaels has several, I'm doing 30 day shred now, it's hard but it will help you firm up. Also her standing ab workout is pretty good too. You need to exercise and build muscle while losing the weight.

Check out skinnytaste.com for some great healthy recipe makeovers.

Hi Kendra. I would be happy to have you as a friend. I have purchased one video and use it when I can't go outside. It was less than $10 at walmart. Other than that, I have walked/hiked away 69 lbs and it hasn't cost me anything but time. Also, there is a food co-op in many areas called bountiful baskets-www(dot)bountifulbaskets(dot)org. They aren't in every area, but if they are in yours, it's a great way to get fresh produce for pretty cheap. It's a little more difficult to eat healthy food on a tight budget than it is to eat processed food, but it can be done with some work and creativity.

Please let me know if I can elp you with the food side of things.

You can't really spot reduce, but you can do a lot of things at home. If it's safe to do so, you can go for a brisk walk around your block for 20-30 minutes. You can also do youtube workouts, like pop-pilates or any other cardio you can search for.
