It depends what you do with the Wii. Wii Fit is pretty lame for exercise but EA Sports Active 2 is a great program as is Gold's Gym Cardio Boxing.

I love my Wii. It doesn't replace a good workout at the gym. It is better than doing nothing. Its all up to you. I use it in the early morning for 45 minutes or so focusing on the aerobics - hula hoop; boxing, free run just to start the day. In the evenings when I don't go to the gym I typically plan an hour or two with my SO - golf and bowling.

I totally agree with this! I have had my Wii for a couple years and use it several times a week! And yes, the above games are great for at home workouts! also zumba 2 is good and I love the Gold's gym cardio boxing. My favorite 'game' is Walk it out...it may seem a little babyish to some, but it is my go-to game to get even more exercise in each day--I do some dvd every day (like Jillian Michaels 30 day shred, etc) then I walk on my Wii for at least an hour to get more fitbit "steps" in and more calories burned. Becuz it is fun to me, I keep going back to it each day, even when I don't feel like exercising at all. And I too also play tennis or running games etc just to keep moving. I LOVE my Wii, we even bought a second one for the tv in the bedroom. ;-)
  • I use the Wii for bowling. My husband bowls with me and we have been bowling 3 games per day most days. I usually do water aerobics 3 times a week but have been sick and haven't gotten out for a week. Even light house keeping burns calories so if you keep track of food and calories, I find it works pretty well. I lost 40 pounds last year doing only water aerobics and watching carbs. This year, I decided to change it up by counting calories and I am adding the Wii to my exercise. My Son is a heavy work out type and thinks I should get more exercise but after seeing the results, he thinks I am doing ok.
