Insanity workout questions

Hi, I've started the insanity workout and calculated that for a "very active" workout i'll require 3070. Now I want to do the workouts to build the mucles and generally go for defined look, at the moment Idont have much fatty areas of the body only the tummy and sides, Should I be setting my calorie intake lower in order to lose that tummy fat and will I still gain the defined muscle look in that area while doing so?
