The Gym Family takes notice

SO during the holidays I was unable to get in my usualy workouts. I work two jobs and it was just too hard to handle with increased hours. I was really good as far as my menu went and still managed to lose 6 lbs (and this was after increasing my calories to 1700 per day). Christmas night brought me the flu and another week out of the gym.
I started back at my normal schedule this week. As it turned out, others in my "gym family" had also taken time off, and those who didn't mentioned being glad to see me back. It feels good to know they notice others. HOWEVER, today was by far the best of all the days. At my gym, we have all become famililar with one another, though never actually bonding over more than a hello, goodbye, or comment regarding how hard any of us had worked any given day. Many also were on haiatus when I returned from my own WLOA (workout leave of absense). Today it looked as though we were back to our usual family. To top off knowing everyone made it through the holidays safely, I received compliments and quetions on how I have been so successful by a group of women who have been attending regularly since before I began my journey. Many of them had had their own visual success and I returned their compliments and excitement but they seemed less enthusiastic about their own success.
I know my loss is somewhat greater than theirs, but to be fair, I had a shortre road to travel than the majority of them so my results are more visible. Any suggestions on paying compliments back to those who are just as successful, but on a longer road than you might be? Or is just one of those keep on keeping on and being as positive as I have been and know that one day they have the full potential to reach their goals as well?
