Ok so ive agreed to run in the spartan sprint in london in august.

its a 5km obstacle race in the vein of tough mudder and warrior dash.

The waiver is laughable... danger of drowning, near drowning, animal bites, fractures, sprain, strain, death, electrocution... the list goes on and thats just section 1

anyway a friend of mine, an ex army captain is running with me and we will be training together from next week but i thought i would put my training schedule and progress on here incase anyone wants to follow it.

It is also a shameless guiltless plug for donations as its all for charity. our chosen charity is the Child Victim of Crime, ill post a link on my blog to the donations page assuming it doesnt breach forum rules (feel free to pm me for details)

I am currently 344 lbs and way out of shape. i know i could walk 5km without too much trouble so i just need to get fit enough for a 10km plus upper body strength too.

My aim is to get to lose 100lbs between now and race day... the first 15-20lbs wont be a problem - its mostly water weight and recent christmas over eating. from there im looking at around 2lbs per week which i think is acheivable through a combination of diet, CV and resistance training.

if anyone has got any tips then im all ears...

right now im off to find some motion control running shoes in my size (uk size 9, 2e fit) then down to the gym to barter for a couple of free passes.
