Serving size... dry or prepared?

thinking about making pancakes for dinner. i have a food scale and regularly weigh my food. usually i avoid foods that dont specify exactly what TYPE of serving it is, such as this:
what do you think? is this supposed to be 40 grams of dry mix, or 40 grams of prepared mix?
