Chest Strap HRM vs Wrist HRM

Hello there -

I have recently switched to a chest strap HRM and am getting really high calorie burns than I did with my wrist one - anywhere from 300-400 calories higher. Just wondering if this is consistent with anyone else who went from a wrist one to a chest strap. For example a calorie burn for a Body Combat class with the wrist was roughly 750, with the chest strap it is 1100. Thoughts, suggestions, etc?

Thanks!

What models are you using? And I would trust something that is sitting right over my heart versus something that is on my wrist.

Make sure that your model doesn't "cross talk" with other models as well.

I would imagine a chest strap would be able to monitor your heart rate better than something on your wrist?

I have a Polar HRM and it is def more accurate than just a wrist HRM.
