Polar FT4 not reading heart rate

I just replaced the batteries, I have had it for just over a year, took a month off of working out and it wont pick it up at all. I made sure its wet and clean and nothing. Anymore ideas?

Does it work other than that, meaning can you see date/time, etc... I don't have an answer but curious because on occasion mine says cannot locate HR or something like that and just shows zeros
