i hate the taste of veggies

I really need to break this addiction to CRAP. I LOVE processed foods. I would really like to start eating clean. But how do i get there? I know this isnt going to be the most simple process. Has anyone one else gone from eating REALLY bad food to eating really good food? Clean eating? Im ready to feel better.
Could someone give me some examples of protein and good fats?

You get there by doing it. Throw away all the crap in your house. Only buy fresh foods. If you don't have crap in the cabinet it's a lot harder to fall back on it.
Good fats include in olive oil, avocados, nut butters (peanut, almond, cashew, etc).
Good sources of protein include chicken, turkey, fish, eggs, tofu, greek yogurt (nonfat, unflavored is best and has highest protein concentrations), etc.0 -
How do you try to prepare your veggies? Sometimes making them in a different way makes a difference. For instance, roast veggies like brussels sprouts, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots... this makes them taste SO much better than steaming them. A salad can be incredibly good depending on what you put in it. Puree sweet potato and put them in your pancake batter in place of an egg (this is SO good). You can really get creative with your veggies.0

Have you ever tried a green smoothie? For mine I usually put in two handfuls of baby spinach, one frozen banana, frozen peaches,frozen pinapple,one tsp frozen orange juice, 1tsp freshly grated ginger, juice from 1/2 a lemon and water. You can't taste the spinach. The banana hides the tast of it. Some times I'll add kale to. Make sure you blend it really well. I will also sometimes add soaked chia as well. Keeps you full longer.:happy:0

Saying you hate veggies is a very broad stroke. How can you put eggplant, green beans, tomatoes, and carrots in the same flavor profile. They all have greatly varying tastes and consistencies, and that's just to name a few of the hundreds. Be more open and don't just lump everything that is plant based into one category of things you don't like the taste of. That being said. I've found the way to prepare veggies in a healthy way that will make them more palatable to the typical veggie hater is to put them on a sheet pan with a little salt and pepper and roast them at 425 until they get a little browning going on. This will make them a little sweeter and crispier and won't bring out that boiled vegetable flavor you might be associating with all veggies. Spray the Sherman with Pam and flip once the bottom starts to brown. I usually do 4-5 different veggies at a time in a few sheet pans and snack in them all week. I usually include at least one root vegetable( carrot,turnip,beets, etc. ),one green (broccoli, asparagus, green beans,etc.), and one I've never gas before. Just go to the market and pick something up that has a funny name. I'm a huge veggie lover and still always find one I've never had.0

Is your goal to lose weight? Or just eat and be healthier? I'm not one of those people that will tell you that HFCS or trans fat will KILL you or whatever. But here's my advice to "ease" into healthier eating while not dramatically changing your habits:
(1) When you go shopping for food, look at the label. If it contains High Fructose Corn Syrup or Trans Fat, just don't buy it or eat it. Look on the shelf for another brand. For instance, Hunts ketchup doesn't have HFCS. Use that (for now). Here's a tip, if it doesn't HAVE a label, then it doesn't have HFCS or enough Trans Fat to worry about.
(2) Look at the fat content on the label. I don't care how much fat it has, but 1/3 or less of the total fat should come from "saturated" fats. The label will tell you. If it has 9 total fat grams per serving, then make sure it has 3 or less grams of "saturated" fats.
If you do just these two things for about two weeks, your tastebuds designed to enjoy the flavor of vegetables and natural sugars and unsaturated fats will regenerate (all that processed food and salt essentially "kills" a bunch of your tastebuds due to flavor overload). The other thing that will happen is because you're cutting out ALL products/foods containing High Fructose Corn Syrup and Trans Fats, there's a lot of other chemicals and flavorings and preservatives you'll be avoiding without even trying. And some of your other taste/smell receptors in your body will start to regenerate.
After two weeks, buy a sweet potato. It costs less than $1 where I live. Cut it into chunks. Drizze a little bit of olive oil on it and put (sea) salt and (fresh ground) pepper on it. Roast it in the oven for a while until you start smelling something delicious and a fork goes easily into a piece. It will taste like the sweetest, most delicious thing you've ever had. I completely relate with you! I'm pretty picky and only like some veggies and pretty much no meats (except bacon haha) so I'm trying to make a point of trying a new veggie in a familiar way like I found a recipe for a kale-pesto pizza with zuccini and other veggies on it. I didn't like either of those but since I already like regular pesto and pizza it wasn't so bad! Its pretty much mind over matter and taking the time to be creative with them. I also like to make smoothies with fruit since I like the taste of most fruits but not the texture, if that makes sense.0
