HRM vs Elliptical trainer

Just curious if anyone knows why there would be a 100 cal burn difference between my Polar F6HRM and the elliptical trainer? For 22min, the elliptical says I burned 296cal, my HRM says 204??
I also did 22 min on the stair mill and that was 180 cal on BOTH HRM and machine...so that was accurate...

I just got a Polar F4 & there is about the same difference between the elliptical & my HRM. I haven't used it on any other machine yet. I just go with what the HRM says.0

Is it because on the eliptical there is no impact? Dont knw much about heart monitors but I think it makes a difference???0
