Is losing 1 lb. per week too slow ?

I've heard that within the first month many people lose the most weight. I've just started working out and eating right and I assumed I would lose at least 2 lb.s a week. So far it's been a slow 1 lb a week. Now I'm wondering if my regimen is the right one for me.

One pound a week seems to be about the average, actually - both in how people choose to healthily take the weight off and how it actually comes off.
It's not linear, though - the body doesn't know when one Sunday ends and the next rolls around, so the weight isn't always dropped week by week by clockwork. It can drop more in one week and then none the next. It's about seeing how it averages out.0 -
I started at the same weight as you and didn't drop a lot of weight the first week. I averaged out to 1 lb a week for 7 months to get to 150... I'm now 147.0

Generally speaking, people with more to lose can lose quicker without worrying about muscle loss, plateaus, etc.
1lb per week is plenty for someone your size.0
