Hi, this year I feel I really have my head in the game and I am focused more than ever to tone and loose weight. I would like to know if anyone could recommend a good hrm that is reasonably priced. I take some classes and I would like an accurate rate of how many calories I burn. Thanks in advance.

I have a Polar FT7. Great HRM!
Don't buy one unless it has a chest strap. There are tons of models out there but not all of them have the chest strap.. some have just the watch however it doesn't allow continuous HR monitoring to get proper calorie burns. ALso ensure you get one that you can input your height, sex, weight, and age into it.
Look around at various stores and see what options are out there... Amazon sells them too. I'm not sure where you live however I got my Polar for 80% at a store closing sale. Best purchase in a while.0 -
Everyone says Polar FT4 or FT70

Yup.. I'm with the majority of what most people say. I really like my Polar FT4. I bought it for $62 on Amazon.0

I bought a Timex HRM because you can't replace the batteries in the Polar ones and you can in the Timex. It might not be as fancy and have all the bells and whistles of the Polar but it suits my needs which is calorie burn. Also I have heard and read complaints about the Polar HRM's crapping the bed after the 1 year warranty is done.0

I just purchased the Polar FT7 from bodytronics.com on the recommendation of an MFP friend.
I LOVE IT!!! Simple to use and I know exactly how much I am burning with each workout. Best investement that I have made for myself and my health.
BTW they were on sale 2 weeks ago....hopefully they still are.
BEST OF LUCK to you!!!0 -

Not sure which one looked at, but I just changed the battery in my FT4 and my chest strap a few weeks ago. The watch takes a CR1632 and the strap takes a CR2025. Maybe they changed since the last time you looked?
I love my polar. The chest strap is VERY comfortable. I notice it right when I put it on, but then forget about it as soon as I start working out.
And I will also say that this is not something you want to skimp on. Get a good one. This is your health you are talking about, don't be cheap about it. I'm not advocating getting the most expensive you can find, just get a good one. $68 on Amazon right now.

bodytronics as candacet86 said is also still having a sale and their prices are in the same range and they have free shipping on them right now.
Good luck!0 -
I love my Suunto M4 - easy to use and looks good (stylish enough to wear as an everyday watch). I personally dislike the look of the Polar models. They look kinda clunky.0
