The Color Run

Have any of you participated in The Color Run? What are your thoughts on it? I just ran across it and thought it looked like a lot of fun...

The Color Run was my very first 5K and it was a blast :)
I guess it holds a special place in my heart since it was my first....

I want to do the one here in June but not sure if we'll be able to afford it. But I think it looks awesome and even wanted to do it last year but it sells out really fast and I was too late. So, if you decide to do it, buy your ticket fast! :flowerforyou:

Exactly this. It was my first and it was so fun! It's a fun and laid back run and a giant party at the end.
  • I did it last summer and LOVED it. It's not timed so it's all for fun. It's a great first 5k because it's all about having fun. Let me put it this way, you'll regret it if you don't do it. =) The stuff does stain your hair though, so I would suggest wearing a bandana or something on your forehead / hair.

It was also my first 5K and it was so much fun. For a first timer, it was great beause it isn't about having the best finish time but rather having fun.

I plan on doing the one in my area in July. The actual date hasn't been released yet. Looks like a lot fun.

I and a couple of my friends are considering this as well. They have done more research on it than me but we all think it sounds like a lot of fun

This is my first time to hear about this. I just looked it up though, and oh my gosh it looks so fun! Makes me wish I had the money-- and transportation-- to do this!

I participated in one last summer. It was a lot of fun. The only downside was that I wasn't really able to run due to how crowded it was. I would definitely do it again and just plan to walk instead.
  • Me and some roommates from college are doing it this year and I'm excited! I've seen photos and it looks amazing!

I did it in Boston last year. It was AMAZING!!! I walked all buy the last 1/2 mile, but I still did it and that's what counts for me. But this year, I WILL run it!! :)
  • It looked like tons of fun but a little spendy for such a short run.

The Color Run in Minnesota is at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds on July 14th, 2013. I'm bringing my 8-year old son and he is so excited to do the Color Run. I am recruiting some of my peer photographers to come out and take pictures since I am actually running this one. The great thing about this 5K is that everybody is going to be acting a little nutty so there is that much less cause to feel self-conscious.

Hope to hear that a lot of my fellow MFPers will be there!

Not sure if all of the Color Run events benefit the same charities, but that is part of the reason for the cost. The Minnesota Color Run benefits a charity called Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless. Its a worthwhile group and another way for me to give something back, even if it is just 40 bucks.

The color run is a total blast!! And a little coconut oil on your hair and skin after the race takes the color right out!!

Friends say it's a blast. Hope to do one this year, either The Color Run or ColorMeRad, as there are three within my area this year. Just hoping to clear my schedule for at least one of 'em.

I just signed up for my local one today! Super excited, as it will be my first 5K. I figured a fun one would be the best way to start out, then I'm going to sign up for another one later in the year.

I LOVE The Color Run! It's AMAZING! It's excellent for a first time runner because it's not timed, and its great for the whole family as a LOT of people walk it. It's generally just a great, fun, MESSY day! I did one in Columbus last year, and will be doing it once and maybe twice this year. I TOTALLY recommend it...it's SO much fun.

I was sober and this was fun. If I was drunk and walked it, I would have an absolute blast!
