Anyone else's Polar FT4 discolor over time?

I've had my Polar FT4 HRM for about 9 months now, the bronze/beige one, and it's gone all dark and dingy looking. It hasn't been through the wash or exposed to harsh chemicals or anything like that. I bought the display model HRM at the store (stupid me) because it was the last one they had and I didn't want to wait for them to order one in, so I'm wondering if that could be why? The battery died needed replacing after 6 months as well, and sometimes it acts wonky. The color change isn't a big deal but I wonder if the watch itself could be affected. Thoughts?

The plastic is dingy? I've had some success restoring the color of sports watches using a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser- and believe me, I've tried EVERYTHING- but most plastic watches that are lighter color just do that over time, unfortunately.0
