Carb Count Seems Too High

I just started on here this week. When I entered all my info, fitness pal gave me my guidelines for daily calories, it seems wrong to me. The carbs seem way too high and the protein seems way to low. Total calories are 1,950, Carbs are 268, Fat is 65, and protein is 73. Is it normal at first, especially for someone alot bigger (like me) to be allowed this many carbs? I always hear how protein is good, carbs are bad so it bothers me. I always have carbs left over and always go over on my protein. Is this bad?

i think a lot of people on here switch up their macros so their carbs are lower. it works out by math. carbs x 4 = calories, fat x 9 = calories and protein x 4 = calories, add all 3 of those and you have your daily limit. if you always have carbs left over maybe you could try changing your macros so you have more protein and less carbs.0

I was told that the MFP guideline wasn't accurate enough as they can't factor in your muscle weight you already have etc. Anyhow, I always end up with left over carbs and over on my protein and fat >.< I can't seem to get it right either. I have been logging in for a week and a bit now0 -
carbs arent bad unless you have medical reasons to avoid them, but the default protein level on here is pretty low. it doesnt hurt to go over the default, and you can manually change it if you want. i have mine set to 40%carbs/30fat/30protein. i dont always hit my goals, but i always try to hit at least 100 grams of protein0

MFP is just guidelines. You can do your own research and manually set your macros to reflect what suits you best. That is what I did. I also manually set my calories.0

depends on what your goals are and what works for you. You can manually adjust your calories.0
