I can't seem to stay awake past 1pm....

I started school again on Monday, going ground this time. Monday and Tuesday were great. Come Wednesday and the rest of this week by the time I got home I was ready to crash for the night. I am not a morning person and do not eat breakfast. I am trying to use the elevators at school as little as possible, I have been using the stairs. I have 10 minutes between classes to get to a different floor and the other side of school so I spend those 10 minutes practically power walking to class. I spend from 9am-11:15/50am in back to back classes. 7a-7:45a I am scrambling to get me showered/dressed and my son ready for school. 8a-8:30ish I am on the road to school. I get home at noon and I was already ready for calling it a night and going to bed. It hit me around 6 today listening to my son play his game that I am tired because I am hungry.

All week long I have gone from 7a till 1-3pm without eating. Then I only eat 2 times for the rest of the night and its more of a "snack" than a meal. I need to correct this and soon! Any ideas for a picky eater like me on what I can eat/drink in the morning to keep my energy up till I can sit and eat a real meal between 1-3pm? Any ideas on meals after school to keep me boosted through the day?

I should also mention that I am on ADHD medication which is known to suppress appetite, so its not that I am forcing myself to not eat, I am just not feeling hungry at all until 1-3pm. I can't eat when I am not hungry, but I know to not become malnourished I need to find things that will energize me, keep me full for a while, and not feel like I am forcing myself to eat.

It's worth running a search: there was a thread from someone very recently with ADHD asking what they should eat firs thing before taking meds because they struggle to eat thereafter. Also another recent thread from a student who was undertaking six hour experiments so could not eat and wanted advice how to fuel that. You might try smoothies and hearty soups if solid food is a bit much.

Picky ... retrain yourself, keep trying new foods, flavours and combinations over and over again. You can change being fussy and it's best for your son to see his parents eating a wide range of wholefoods. I had to teach myself not to be picky after getting so sick I could not work, partly down to poor lifestyle choices.
