Hello All,

I am 5'6/157 pounds and looking to get down to about 125 pounds. My daily calorie goal is 1200. I used to be run track in high school/college and loved the shape I had. I am looking for advice on how I can get back to that body. Any recommendations on cardio/strength training workouts and amount?

Thanks,

Brittany

I'm going to recommend the New Rules of Lifting books, but I do have a question. What workouts did you do when you were in track and had the body that you liked? That's more or less what I did, although with adaptations because I'm old, brittle and slow now.

I'm also going to recommend you look thru this tread

  • My cardio workouts consisted of sprints 100, 200, and 400's. My strength training consisted of full body heavy weight lifting. I usually lifted in the morning and ran in the afternoon. This was completed 6 days a week. Thanks so much for the suggestion and I will check it out.
