Another New Years resolution!

Hi! I'm Martine, 23 years old, live in North London with my boyfriend and kitty, and two days ago I discovered the amazing Fitness Pal app. My main resolution for 2013 is losing the 7 kilo's (1.1 stone or 15 lbs) I have put on over the last 2 years, plus finally getting into an exercise routine (that does not involve paying ridiculous gym membership fees).

My current weight (as of last Monday) is 62.9 kg (9.7 stone or 136 lbs).
My goal weight is 55 kg (8.7 stone or 121 lbs).

I'm 1m63cm (about 5''4), so my current BMI is 23.3, at my goal weight it should be 20.7.

I already eat quite healthily (I avoid sugar-laden fizzy drinks, fried food etc. and eat plenty of vegetables), my main problem is that my portion sizes are too big and I love, love, love bread (and other carb heavy foods like pasta and potatoes). Apart from that I also work in a tea room where I have cakes, scones and brownies in front of me all day, so temptation is always there.

This week I have started doing a Tae Bo exercise video twice a week (45 mins each), and I will follow an hour long yoga exercise tomorrow for the first time. I absolutely loathe anything sport related, so this is a huge step for me! I do love swimming, but it's too much of a hassle to go there, change into your bathing suit in those nasty wet fungus cubicles etc! Plus it does get rather boring swimming back and forth for anything longer than 15 minutes.

Another thing about me, I love cooking (and baking sadly) and I try to cook tasty but healthy meals every day. I have a food blog where I post my recipes here: http://martinesrecipes.blogspot.co.uk/ My favourite cuisine is probably Indian (I could live on naan and dal!).

I would love to befriend some people here with similar goals (or similar age/height or whatever!), to support and motivate each other! :heart:
