Turning a bad day to a good day!

I had the worst day of teaching this week (not because of the students, but because of a parent) and after feeling so stressed and depressed, I got on the scale to be overjoyed that I had lost a few more pounds FINALLY! Just enough to help me believe I can reach my final goal maybe by my 53rd birthday this month. I won't say, here is to stress, but rather, here is to perseverance! Just like in teaching when there are days I would love to quit, so it is with trying to reach our goal weights, we must never give up.

I agree - good for you!!!! I had a really difficult frustrating day last week - and when my support system offered to take me out for drinks and food, I refused, but accepted their hugs and good intentions. Perserverance is where it's at - and doesn't it feel GREAT not to use food or alcohol to numb out all that stress? GREAT JOB!!!:flowerforyou:

I too learned this week that a disappointment can be turned into something positive. A WW member shared in the meeting that her birthday bash had caused her a weight gain, and she felt like going to her car to cry, but instead came into the meeting to sit and listen. We then all learned that 3 members had a birthday the same week and were all there to get back on track. Admitting their downfall was freeing, then moving forward to take what they have learned and get right back on the healthy food plan was motivating. What could have turned into more downfalls stopped right there and became motivation for the days ahead. Sharing on here can do the same. Nothing tastes as good as thin feels.
