I'm working so hard and trying not to plateau - I've heard those tend to hit when you've lost 10% of your weight, which is what I"m getting close to. Anyway, I have asthma and bad knees, and I have never been a runner - I never even took PE as a kid! Our gym is 18 laps = one mile. Until today, the most I have ever run was 3 laps in a row, something like walk 2, run 2, walk 2, run 3, walk 2, run 2, etc. Today I was going to do that again, but as I rounded lap 3, I saw the sign that says "18 laps = 1 mile" and I thought, "I can do this!" I ran one full mile! Then I walked 2 laps, and ran another half mile, then I walked 2 laps, and ran ANOTHER half mile! I'm so proud of myself. I want to keep running!

That's AWESOME! Sometimes, you'll have days where you can run for what seems like forever. Sometimes ya won't be able to even go three laps. Don't let those days discourage you! Keep running! :)

Running is addictive!! I started off doing 3 miles total on the treadmill and seeing how much of it I could run, which would be anywhere from just 1/4 mile to 1/2 mile going 5.0 mph. Now I'm doing 2 miles and Monday I ended up running 1.05 miles of it at 5.4mph! This last time, only 0.60 miles, but in my defense, it was right after my strength training session so my legs were BEAT! Congrats on breaking your goal! I love running stories. :)
