I apologize in advance if this has been reposted a million times. I saw a friend with this little gadget yesterday and I was intrigued! Does anyone have this? It looks like a neat little way of measuring your activity. Is it accurate? Worth the money?

Thank you for your input!

  • While I dont have one, I am looking into it

I have however used an accelerometer (the thing that they use in the band to measue activity) for research purposes. Not sure which thechnology they have put in the band but i know the ones i use for health research cost about 350 each, so I assume they are using a lesser thechnology (might not be the case). They wont be perfectly accurate but will be more accurate than just imputting your exercise into the program on MFP based on time. The accelerometer will measure your acceleration across 3 planes of movement giveing you a good idea based on your height and weight, how many calories you are burning in a given activity.

I also used to use the old Nike+ technology that had a gps hooked up to your shoe that tracked your run distance and pace, it also gave you in run feedback and had a bunch of really cool features online.

Without having one I would recomend it, looking into one myself.

Hi! I've had mine for a few months and love it. I find that it really motivates me to add more movement to my days, every day. You enter a goal for "fuelpoints" that are earned by movement. With a touch, it will tell you your progress throughout the day. Once you meet your goal, you get a little light show. It syncs over bluetooth with an app that tracks your progress. THere's also a little blue guy who dances when you achieve things. It has a pedometer and a calorie counting function, but I don't use them.

I set me goal so that in order to meet it, I really need to do some sort of workout, spend an hour or so walking and NOT spend 8 hours a day sitting. I may be simple-minded, but I really work to achieve the goal and it has made a difference.

    Hope this is helpful!
